The Black Teacher Archive centralizes and makes this information freely available for research, teaching and educational purposes only. The BTA does not own the copyright associated with the items in this collection. Users are responsible for obtaining permissions from owning repositories to publish materials. If you wish to quote or cite BTA collection materials, no formal permissions are needed.

The Black Teacher Archive makes every effort to ensure it has permissions to include and provide access to content available on this portal, and provides attribution to owning repositories. The Black Teacher Archive is a digital non-custodial project. This portal website is the only access point to this centralized material of digital reproductions.

We used WorldCat records, reviewed archival finding aids, and wrote to over 150 institutions to inquire about their related holdings. If you have an item or know of a journal not included, please contact us (bta@gse.harvard.edu)

No, some contributors already had this material digitized and available on the web in their respective digital collections before the BTA project was initiated. Those institutions include: Kentucky State University/University of Kentucky, Georgia State University, Florida A&M University, Prairie View A&M University/University of North Texas, and Western Kentucky University.
